I'd leave 0 if I could this company sold a debt without even logging failed payment with credit reference agency actually no record at all of sse they sold it to a company in USA who sold it to a bully boy group called moriarty law who won't reply to emails I have contacted sse and getting nowhere fast so now got liars ccj logged against me

Do not and I mean not use this energy provider!! I have been with them for 6 months paying way over for a 2 bedroom apartment. I was living there by myself and when coming to moving out they I was in contact with them, they told me I was due over £574 back pay and still 4 months after moving out I still can not get this money back. Shocking business to go for please do some research before applying with them!!
Phone helpful, website terrible
Muthu was really helpful setting up our account for gas and electric considering the website did not work (we were never told this was the case). Muthu was professional, efficient and got the job done

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. I've had to go to the Ombudsman to fix the issue, and despite resolution terms being set they're still not fulfilling them!
My meter wasn't registered and they refused to send someone out to do so. All I wanted was to start paying my bills; they still haven't resolved it after 13 months!

I don't understand
I don't understand, it's already February 7, the second week of the month.And the smart meter doesn't fill up with £67 yet. When it was always 2-3 days. It is not possible to call any of the phone numbers.Refers to the same, only extra emergency. Facebook Messenger does not respond to messages either. I am a single mother of two children and knowing that the electricity will be refilled, I calmly spent money on food. If you don't fulfill your obligation, at least have the courage to communicate with your customers and explain the situation.

Practically all of my reviews are about SSE because they are sooooo bad! Avoid at all costs! Called on my lunch to pay off debt so I can get away from them, was passed from Pillar to post, some staff will try their best to find the account other can’t be bothered then wonder why when you shout why?! And hang up. I also made a complaint and they responded to me saying “Dear Ms Coalwood” so obviously had the wrong person. This company does not know customer service because if they did, they would shut their own business down.

We lost our electricity feed last night…
We lost our electricity feed last night around 2100hrs and checked the street to find it was only our home and one other house next door.
Having checked all our breaker switches which seemed ok, we called SSE to report it.
Within 20 minutes an engineer was outside our house and in our garden doing what research they do.
Then within the next 40 minutes we had a crew outside digging up the road.
With nothing more for us to do and temperatures dropping we just went to bed. To be woken up at 0400 in the morning to music and lights as the power was restored.
What amazing service is all I can say, and a big thank you to the workers who turned up in the middle of the night, dug up the pavement and fixed whatever needed doing.

Meter removal
Despite taking 90 minutes, and being passed to three customer service members I finally landed with Abs. He was able to arrange my electricity and gas meter removal on the same date and time and took two separate payments for each. Once with the right person this was straightforward and Abs was clear in what was happening, at what time and what it would cost.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Can’t explain all the trouble I have had with SSE. Absolutely AWFUL experience.
Bills that are not mine being sent repeatedly. 7 different account numbers. Refusing to switch me over to credit meter. Engineers not showing up. When they do unable to do the job. On hold for hours. Never resolving issues just passing the departments.
Have been talking to other companies and I highly recommend switching. Other companies delt with me in minutes will lots of useful information.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS UNLESS YOU WANT ELECTRICITY AND GAS ANXIETY AND STRESS.

moved in a property which have ovo energy. OVO and SSE are combined or something like that....
I wanted to switch back to my previous supplier as I have some pending balances with them...
But these SSE and OVO making me transfer to each other. When I call one then they say talk to the other but no one able to solve the problem, even after several calls/chats. Totally frustrating experience
Incompetent and uncaring
Sent round in circles by DISGRACEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICES CALL CENTRE. Also emails I have been given or I found have mysteriously come back 'as address not found'. Very convenient. One email reply was 'In order to improve the service we provide, our contact channels have been updated.' So back to making a phone call to be told my complaint will be looked into. This started 6 MONTHS ago. Some improvement!! However they are sending DEBT COLLECTORS for an account closed and finalised over 12 months ago. They are doing this to a known to them an 'at risk vulnerable person. SICKENING, this is having a huge detrimental effect on this person

A little frustrating at first but great customer service once through to the correct team
I spent an hour on the phone initially being passed between various teams which wasn’t ideal but when I was finally put through to the correct team (by someone lovely from the solar panels team!), I had a very good experience. They were really helpful and provided a great service.

This company is beyond a joke
I have moved home and was on pre payment meter with credit in my meter of over £60. This amount was spose to be refunded to me how ever instead I've received the bill of £118
How can u scam someone like that

No-one knows anything- & definitely not interested in solving problems
I am an existing customer & since January 8th have been asking for an engineer to come out to connect a meter due to refurbishment works. I have been put through to countless departments & wasted hours on hold. Today they told me that OVO would provide the service as they were in the process of migrating all customers over. After almost 2 hours on hold, OVO told me I was not "yet" their customer & SSE needed to provide the service. SSE says that they are registering jobs, but not delivering on them. And by the way- you cannot change energy suppliers at the moment due to a freeze because of the energy crisis. We are completely stuck with no solution in sight. Would NEVER recommend this company.

It took me over a YEAR to get account…
It took me over a YEAR to get account in my name. I'm incredibly poorly yet they sent an aggressive debt collector for £140 tried to speak to them several times, no joy was told unless i set up a DD threats will continue. I pay by standing order SSE don't like it & basically said if i don't set up DD threats & court action will continue? Is that even legal? Took almost 18mths to be put on priority register despite requesting this month after month filling out the forms emailed SSE. Been horrendous & I'm dreading being moved over to OVO as I'm seeing awful things happening to people.
